Meet Pastor Lori
Rev. Lori E.L. Kitzing has been serving Bethany Lutheran Church since May of 2019. In 2021 Pastor Lori also started serving First Presbyterian Church in Superior. She now shares her time at both churches.
Pastor Lori grew up in the great state of New Jersey. She earned two BAs from The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. She earned her MDiv at Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary (PLTS) in Berkeley, California. While at PLTS, Lori met her husband Andrew. Andrew is also a Pastor in the ELCA. He serves as the Associate Pastor at First Lutheran Church in Lincoln, NE.
Lori and Andrew have been married since 2010. That same year, Pastor Lori started her Pastoral Internship at The Lutheran Student Center at UNL and Sheridan Lutheran Church in Lincoln, NE. Pastor Lori's first call was at Grace Lutheran in Walton, NE. She served there for eight years before coming to Bethany.
Pastor Lori's ministry is greatly informed by the many, unique ministry opportunities she has experienced around the world through the ELCA. Such as doing diversity training in Bosnia with Muslim and Orthodox Christian children born during and after the genocide. Participating in "Ubuntu University" in Mexico. And visiting Nebraska Synod Partners in the Northern Diocese of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania (ELCT).
Pastor Lori is also a proud Aunt to four nephews and two nieces. She will happily bombard you with photos, if you let her.
